With a goal of becoming involved in educational policy, Anisa focused on education throughout her academic career. She interned for several educational non-profits and the federal Department of Education. However, as it's best to understand your subject matter from the ground up, Anisa decided to step into a classroom to teach high school English. She was intrigued by her students and the experience! She then taught 7th and 8th grade mathematics to special education students, followed by an opportunity to teach English abroad. Each teaching experience brought her new kinds of joy and furthered her confidence that she found her path. Now, she cannot imagine doing anything other than working with students.
Anisa is passionate about bringing a high level of energy to every tutoring session and making content relatable so that learning is both effective and enjoyable. As a people person, she also loves connecting with students and being a trusted, supportive adult in their lives. She believes nothing is more satisfying than working hard with a student and seeing their progress. For Anisa, her students' "lightbulb" moments are everything.
