Graduate Program Application Essay
Need some help thinking of a creative way to separate yourself from other applicants through your essay? Are you looking for a professional proof reader or are having trouble writing more than just the tile? Either way, ES is ready to help!
1-to-1 GRE Preparation
Graduate-level courses are taught one-to-one and are scheduled one-appointment-at-a-time at the convenience of the student. In the first 1.5 hour appointment we teach traps, tricks, shortcuts, strategy and quizmanship by reviewing material in slow motion for a student, who then applies this knowledge to homework. In the following appointments the instructor starts by explaining every error made on the homework, leaves correct written solutions for every item missed, and re-teaches and concentrates on areas of weakness.
When to meet:
It is recommended that students meet with their instructor on a weekly basis in preparation for a test date. Typically, appointments are scheduled for an hour and a half, but can be an hour, or two hours as needed to get through the homework that has been assigned. We typically do not suggest having more than two weeks in between each session because a student will not as easily be able to apply the strategies previously learned.
What happens between sessions:
For homework, students complete drill packets, each focusing on a single area of the test, and/or a test between each appointment (depending on previous levels of preparation). Score improvement can be monitored from each full-length test to the next.
Investment
- 1-to-1 Tutoring Session: $260/hour
- Preparation Materials: $100 (one-time fee per test subject)
- 1 Virtually-Proctored Practice Test: $50 (usually Saturday mornings)
Payment:
We gladly accept all payments through Zelle, Venmo, all major credit cards, ACH, checks, and cash. Payment for the first A La Carte service and materials is required at the time of scheduling.
Cancellation Policy:
All appointments may be changed or cancelled with at least 24 hour notice. Appointments changed or cancelled within 24 hours will be charged. Weekend and Holiday Monday appointments must be changed or cancelled by 5pm on Friday.

We will pair you with an essay specialist that has a background in English and writing. Sessions can be held in person in our St Davids office or virtually through Zoom.
Diagnostic Review
$120
This is a strategic option for students who have a draft and would like some initial feedback. Is the message of the essay clear? Does it flow effectively? Is it ready to submit? We’ll help you find out! The diagnostic review allows students to email an essay specialist a copy of their essay and receive general feedback in 48 business hours about overall strengths of the piece, as well as areas of opportunity. Suggested service(s) will also be noted, if applicable, to ensure we can help students feel confident their essays are ready for admission teams to review.
Essays by the Hour

Are you unsure of where to begin and need help brainstorming a great idea? Have you started your essay, but are not quite ready for a final review? Come meet with one of our Essay Specialists 1-to-1 to review the essay you have started. Come only once, or come once a week! After the initial 1-to-1 session, in which the essay will be reviewed in detail, an essay timeline can be established to help determine how much more 1-to-1 time will be necessary.
Intensive Feedback
$280
Think your draft is strong and ready for submission? The Intensive Feedback option offers students the opportunity to have two essay specialists thoroughly review a draft asynchronously. They will provide detailed feedback about the whole of the essay, as well as individual aspects within 72 business hours. We’ll confirm if it’s ready for submission or would benefit from further attention.
A-to-Z Essay Package
$1,330
The A-to-Z Essay Package provides students with guidance throughout the entire essay-writing process. The package is structured to have seven 1-hour appointments that will begin with brainstorming and end with one polished, application-ready essay! All sessions are 1-to-1 with an Essay Specialist to foster a focused and productive learning environment, and the package also offers Intensive Feedback (see above) once a full essay begins to form.
